Book and Direction



Director, choreographer and actor. General Manager of ROMA Musical Theatre since 1998. Earlier, between 1991 and 1998 he was general manager of the Jan Kochanowski Theatre in Radom, where he successfully directed “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” and “Fame” among others. There he was also the initiator and general manager of three editions of the International Gombrowicz Festival.

A scholarship holder of the United States Information Agency and the British Council (“Theatre Management in the Free Market Economy”), he also received the Aleksander Bardini Award for “masterful management of a musical theatre” (2002), and the Prometheus Award for “perseverance in artistic activity” (2003). In 2005, he received the Arts & Business Award for “masterful management of culture” and—two years later—EMPiK’s Ace 2007 for creating a world-class Polish musical (Academy of Mr. Kleks). In 2005, he was decorated with the Gold Cross of Merit for outstanding achievements in the field of cultural development and achievements in his work as an organiser. He received the special Feliks 2007 award for “Academy of Mr. Kleks”. Following the première of “The Phantom of the Opera” he was awarded with the Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis (2009). He was the recipient of the Gala’s Rose Award in 2010 for directing “Les Misérables”. In 2013, on the 40th anniversary of his artistic career, he received the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta by the decision of Bronisław Komorowski, then the President of the Republic of Poland, for outstanding achievements for Polish culture and achievements in artistic and theatrical work.

In 2013, commissioned by the Walt Disney Company, he directed the Russian-language version of Aladdin Jr. at the St. Petersburg Theatre of Musical Comedy.

Since 2016, he has been running classes at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw for students of the Department of Vocal and Acting Studies.
