Jakub Lubowicz


He graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw (classical piano) and Academy of Music in Katowice (jazz piano). He is a laureate of classical and jazz piano competitions.

As a composer, arranger and music director, he has worked with many Polish theatres (the National Theatre, the Palladium Theatre and Studio Buffo in Warsaw, Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic in Białystok, the Musical Theatre in Gdynia, Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz, the Musical Theatre in Poznań, the Musical Theatre in Szczecin, and the Juliusz Osterwa Theatre in Lublin).

At ROMA Musical Theatre, he worked as music director of “Mamma Mia!”, “Ale musicale!”, “The Last Five Years”, “Once” and “Alice in Wonderland”, as well as three other shows for which he also created the music and arrangements: “The Jungle Book”, “Adonis Has a Guest”, and “The Trial – Musical Play”.

He is a lecturer at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where he conducts classes for students of the Department of Vocal and Acting Studies (major: musical). He is also a teacher at the Fryderyk Chopin Secondary School of Music. Since 2014, he has been working with the Okularnicy Foundation where, among other things, he is the music director and arranger for the gala concerts of the festival “Let’s Remember Osiecka”.

He has performed as a pianist and session musician on several dozen albums of other artists. In addition to musicals and theatrical plays, he has composed many instrumental pieces and songs.
